Metaphor for the Creative Writing Process #2

This Mother of Millions that refuses to stay in the space between stones.

The plant was a LOT smaller when I placed it there…even smaller than the yellow succulent I stuck in there once The Mother grew up and out like a long, fat dragon. (It looked more dragon-like before it lost most of its strange brownish-green scaly leaves. The leaves, BTW, turn into more plants.) The Mother is also propagating at least one small version of herself beneath her giant snake stem. It was a much bigger plant than I’d expected, which too often seems to be the case with ideas. I’m working on containment, though, on trying to discern what actually needs this kind of space and what doesn’t. I’m getting better, I think, I hope.
